Explanation:

mass = 5kg

The forces acting on the body are 12N and 5N which are at an angle of 90°

  • The resultant force of two forces acting at an angle theta
  1. =
  2.  \sqrt{(} f1) {}^{2}  + (f2) {}^{2}  + (f1)(f2)(cos theta)

where F1 and F2 are the forces

Now cos theta = cos 90 = 0

so for two forces acting perpendicularly

we can directly take as ✓(F1²+F2²)

=✓(12²+5²) = ✓(169) = 13N

acceleration = Force/mass

= 13/5= 2.6 m/s²
