Answer:

1) 12 m/s

2) 18 m

3) 60 kg m/s

4) 360 J

Explanation:

Given:

Mass of the body (m) = 5 kg

Initial velocity (u) = 0 m/s  (as it was at rest)

Force applied (F) = 20 N

First, we need to find the acceleration (a) of the body.

F = ma  (Newton's 2nd Law Of Motion)

⇒ 20 = 5a

⇒ a = 20/5

a = 4 m/s²

1) Velocity in 3 Seconds

We can find its final velocity (v) in 3 seconds by using the 1st formula of motion.

v = u + at

⇒ v = 0 + (4*3)

v = 12 m/s

2) Displacement in 3 Seconds

We can find its displacement (s) in 3 seconds by using the 3rd formula of motion.

v² = u² + 2as

⇒ 12² = 0 + (2*4*s)

⇒ 144 = 8s

⇒ s = 144/8

s = 18 m

3) Linear momentum (p)

p = mv

⇒ p = (5 * 12)

p = 60 kg m/s

4) Kinetic Energy (KE)

K.E = 1/2mv²

⇒ K.E = 1/2 * 5 * 12 * 12

K.E = 360 Joules

Hope it helps!

Given : A body of mass 5kg is initial at rest

Due to application of external force of 20N it accelerates.

To Find :

1) Velocity in 3 sec

2) Displacement in 3 sec

3) It linear momentum

4) Kinetic energy

Solution:

m = 5 kg

u = 0

F = 20 N

F = ma

=> 20 = 5a

=> a = 4 m/s²

V = u + at

Velocity at 3 secs

= 0 + 4(3)

= 12 m/s

Displacement in 3 sec

S = ut + (1/2)at²

=> S = 0 + (1/2)4(3)²

=> S = 18 m

Linear Momentum  = mv

= 5 (12)

= 60  kgm/s  or Ns

Kinetic energy = (1/2)mv²

= (1/2)5(12)²

= 360 J
