A body of mass 6.5 kg is acted upon by two
perpendicular forces of 12 N and 5 N. Give the magnitude a direction of acceleration of the body.​

As they are perpendicular to each other therefore according to parallelogram vector addition we need to calculate resulatant force

F =√ 12^2 + 5^ 2. ( as cos 90 = 0)

F = 13 N

Therefore , F =. Ma

a = 13/6.5

= 2m/s^2

Direction of net force = direction of acceleration

Let angle alpha between 12 and 5 N

Therefore tan alpha 12/5 = 2.4

Hence alpha = tan - 2.4
