Given:

Mass,

= 60 kg

Coefficient of Static friction,

= 0.5

Coefficient of Kinetic friction,

= 0.4

To find:

Acceleration = ?

Solution:

Maximum static friction will be:

= Umg

On putting the values, we get

= 0.5\times \ 60\times 9.8

= 294 \ N

Maximum kinetic friction will be:

= 0.4\times 60\times 9.8

= 235.2 \ N

then,

F=ma

or,

⇒  a=\frac{F}{a}

On substituting the values, we get

⇒     =\frac{58.8}{60}

⇒     =0.98 \ m/s^2

Thus, the acceleration will be "0.98 m/s²".
