A body of mass 'm' is released from rest on an inclined plane in an elevator (moving up with
acceleration ao). Find the time taken by the body to reach the bottom of the inclined plane.

see figure, here a body of mass m is released from rest on an inclined plane in an elevator ( moving up with acceleration a0) is shown.

elevator moves with accelerating motion in upward direction , so a pseudo force acting downward to make non-inertial frame to inertia frame.

so, net acceleration acting on body in downward direction, a = (g + a0)

let distance between highest point to Lowest point of inclined plane is L.

then, time taken by body to move top to bottom , t = √{2L/a }

= √{2L/(g + a0)}

hence, time taken by body to reach the bottom of inclined plane , t = √{2L/(g+a0)}
