contact \: force = f =  \mu \: n =  \mu \: mg \:  \cos( \theta)  \\  \\ when  \: \theta = 0 \:  \\ f =  \mu \: mg \\ if \:  \theta  \uparrow \:   \cos( \theta)  \downarrow \\ so \: f \: will \: decrease \: with \: increasing \:  \theta

hence,option b) it remains constant initially and then decreases is the correct option
