Explanation:

Answer: The acceleration of an object as produced by a net force is directly proportional to the magnitude of the net force, in the same direction as the net force, and inversely proportional to the mass of the object.

Given info : a body send waves 10 cm long through medium a and 25 cm long in medium b if the velocity of waves in medium a is 80 cm/s.

To find : The velocity of waves in medium b is...

solution : frequency remains same for all media of a wave.

so, frequency of wave in medium a = frequency of wave in medium b

⇒v₁/λ₁ = v₂/λ₂ [ as frequency = velocity/wavelength]

⇒ 80/10 = v₂/25

⇒ v₂ = 200 cm/s

Therefore the velocity of wave in medium b is 200 cm/s.
