Given:

  • The body is starting from rest
  • Attained velocity = 15 m/s
  • Time taken = 5s

To find:

  • Acceleration = ??

Solution:

Using the first equation of motion

v = u + at

  • v → final velocity = 15m/s
  • u → initial velocity = 0 m/s
  • a → acceleration = ?
  • t → time taken = 5s

Note : - Here, the initial velocity of the body will be zero because the body is starting from rest

Substituting the known values we have

→ 15 = 0 + a(5)

→ 15 = 5a

→ a = 15/5

Acceleration = 3 m/

Hence, acceleration of the body = 3 m/

Answer:

GIVEN = V=15m/s T=5s

initial velocity = u = 0 because body starts from rest

according to Newton's 1st equation of motion

v=u+at

15=0+a×5

15=5a

15/5=a

3=a

acceleration = 3m/s²
