Use second rquation of motion:
s = ut + ½at²
Given:
- initial velocity = u = 0 (at rest)
- acceleration = a = 0.1 m/s²
- time = t = 5s
- distance travelled = s = ?
Solution
- s = ut + ½at²
- s = 0(5) + ½ (0.1)(5)²
- s = 0 + ½ × 0.1 × 5×5
- s = 2.5/2
- s = 1.25 m
★ distance travelled in 5s is 1.25 m
