Initial velocity = u =  0m/s (Body starts from rest)

Displacement = S = 100m

Time taken = t = 5s

Acceleration = a = ?

Using Newtons laws of motion,

S = ut + 1/2at²

100 = 0 + 1/2 * a * 25

a = 100*2/25 = 4*2

a = 8m/s²

Hence the body accelerates at the rate of 8m/s²
