Hi there !!

Initial velocity (u) = 0m/s [ the body initially started from rest ]
Time (t) = 5 sec
Distance (s) = 100m

So as to find the acceleration, we need to use the following equation of motion :

s = ut +  \frac{1}{2} {at}^{2}
100 =  \frac{1}{2}  \times a \times 5 {}^{2}

100 =  \frac{25a}{2}

 \frac{100 \times 2}{25}  = a

a = 8

Thus,
the value of acceleration is 8m/s²

Hope it helps :D

Heya....

According to the question,

The Body started from rest, Initial velocity(u) = 0

Distance traveled (s) = 100 m

Acceleration = a

Time Taken (t) = 5s

On Putting Formula on Second Equation of motion,

s = ut + 1/2 at^2

100 = 0+ 1/2*a*25 (5^2 = 25)

100/25 = 1/2a

4/1/2 = a (100/25 = 4 &, transposing 1/2 to L.H.S)

a= 4*2/1

a=8 m/s^2

Hence, Acceleration is 8 m/s ^2
