Given

⚠️ Body starts from rest

⚠️ Acceleration = 0.5 m/s²

⚠️ Time = 3 minutes

To find

⚠️ Velocity of body after 3 minutes

⚠️ Distance travelled by body.

Solution

From the data we have :

⇒ Initial velocity (u) = 0 m/s

⇒ Acceleration (a) = 0.5 m/s²

⇒ Time (t) = 3 minutes = (3 × 60) = 180 s

Now using 1st equation of motion :

✒️ v = u + at

✒️ v = 0 + (0.5 × 180)

✒️ v = 0 + 90

✒️ v = 90 m/s

Therefore, final velocity of body = 90 m/s

Now finding distance travelled :

By using 3rd equation of motion :

✒️ - = 2as

✒️ (90)² - 0² = 2 × 0.5 × s

✒️ 8100 - 0 = s

✒️ s = 8100 m

Therefore, distance travelled = 8100 m

A body start from rest .

Therefore u=0m/s

a=0.5m/s^2

t=3×60=180seconds

v=?

We know, v=u+at

v=0.5×180

v=90m/s
