A body starts from rest and moves with a uniform acceleration of 3ms -2. . in a straight line.
(a) What is its velocity after 4s? (5 mks)
(b) How far has it travelled in this time? (5 mks)
© When will it be 150m away from its starting point? (5 mks)

Answer:

Explanation:

U (Initial Velocity) = 0

V (Final Velocity) = ?

T (Time) = 4s

A (Acceleration) = 3 m/s²

(a) So, By using 1st Equation of motion,

V = U+AT

V = 0+3*4

V = 12m/s

(b) By using 3rd Equation of Motion, (U can also use 2nd Equation for this)

2AS = V²-U²

2*3*S = 12²-0²

6*S = 144

S = 144/6

S = 24 m

©Distance covered in 1s = 24/4

                                         = 6m

  Time taken to cover 150m = 150/6

                                               = 25s

Hope It helps u ! :)
