Given :

Initial velocity = zero (i.e., rest)

Distance covered by body in 8th second of journey = 1.5\sf{m}

To Find :

We have to find acceleration of the body.

Solution :

➠ Distance covered by body in nth second of journey is given by

  • d = u + a/2(2n - 1)

d denotes distance, u denotes initial velocity, a denotes acceleration and n denotes nth second.

➝ d = u + a/2(2n - 1)

➝ 1.5 = 0 + a/2(2×8 - 1)

➝ 1.5 × 2 = a(16 - 1)

➝ 3 = 15a

a = 0.2 m/s²

Answer:

d) 0.02m/s2

Explanation:

s=ut+(at^2)/2

1.5=0*2+(a*8^2)/2

1.5=0+(a*64)/2

1.5=(2+a*64)/2

1.5&2=2+64a

3=2+64a

1=64a

a=1/64

a=0.0156

a=0.02 m/s^2
