Given :

▪ Initial speed = zero (i.e. rest)

▪ Acceleration = 4m/s²

▪ Time interval = 4s

To Find :

▪ Displacement of body after the given interval of time.

Concept :

☞ Since, acceleration has said to be constant throughout the motion, we can easily apply equation of kinematics to solve this type of questions.

☞ Second equation of kinematics :

S = ut + (1/2)at²

  • S denotes displacement
  • u denotes initial velocity
  • t denotes time
  • a denotes acceleration

Calculation :

→ S = ut + (1/2)at²

→ S = (0×4) + (1/2)(4)(4)²

→ S = 0 + (2×16)

S = 32m

✰Question ✰

⋄ A body starts from rest and undergoes a constant acceleration of 4m/s². Find it's displacement after 4seconds .

_______________________________

❍ Given:-

➧ Initial velocity (u) = 0m/s

➧ Acceleration (a) =4m/s²

➧ Time taken (t) =4s

_______________________________

❍ To Find :-

Displacement of the body (s)

_______________________________

❍ Solution :-

By using 2nd equation of motion

⋄ S=ut+1/2at²

➠ S= 0×4+1/2×4×4²

➠ s=1/2×64

➠ s=32m.

∴The displacement of the body is 32m.

⋄ Some equation of motion are :-

❪i❫ v=u+at

❪ii❫ s=ut+1/2at²

❪iii❫ v² = u² +2as

where

v is the final velocity of body .

u is the initial velocity of body.

s is the distance travelled by body.

t is the time taken by body.
