Gɪᴠᴇɴ :-

  • Initial velocity (u) = 0 m/s. --(At rest)
  • Acceleration (a) = 2 m/s²
  • Time taken (t) = 2 seconds

ᴛᴏ ғɪɴᴅ :-

  • Distance travelled (s)

sᴏʟᴜᴛɪᴏɴ :-

Now,

On using second equation of motion, we get,

s = ut + ½ at²

s = 0×2 + ½ × 2 × (2)²

s = 8/2

s = 4 m

Hence,

  • Distance travelled (s) is 4 m

Answer

Distance covered = 4 m

Given

A body starts from rest with a uniform acceleration 2 m/s²

To Find

Distance covered by the  body in 2 s

Concept Used

As the acceleration of the body is uniform throughout the motion. So , we need to apply equation's of motion ,

→ s = ut + ¹/₂ at²

Solution

Initial velocity , u = 0 m/s

Start's from rest

Acceleration , a = 2 m/s²

Time , t = 2 s

Distance , s = ? m

Apply 2nd equation of motion ,

\to\ \bf{\pink{s=ut+\dfrac{1}{2}at^2}}\\\\\to\ \rm s=(0)(2)+\dfrac{1}{2}(2)(2)^2\\\\\to\ \rm s=0+2^2\\\\\to\ \rm{\green{s=4\ m\ \; \bigstar}}

So , Distance covered = 4 m
