s = ut +  \frac{1}{2} at {}^{2}
where a is the distance, u is the initial velocity, a is acceleration and t is time.
so we have
u = 0 (since the body was at rest)
t = 2 sec
a = 2m/s^2

So we have
distance=
0 \times 2 +  \frac{1}{2}  \times 2 \times  {2}^{2}  \\  = 0 +  {2}^{2}  \\  =  {2}^{2}  = 4
4 metre is the distance covered

by using the formula..
s=ut+1/2*at²
