Solution :-

As per the given data ,

  • Initial velocity (u) = 0 m/ s
  • Acceleration (a) = 0.5 m/s²
  • Time taken (t ) = 3 min = 3 x 60 = 180 sec

As the body is moving with uniform acceleration we can use the first equation of motion in order to find final velocity and second / third equation of motion in order to find distance

As per first equation of motion ,

⇒ v = u + at

⇒ v = 0 + 0.5 x 180

⇒ v = 90 m /s

The final velocity of the body is 90 m/s

As per second kinematic equation ,

⇒ s = ut + at² / 2

⇒ s = at² / 2

⇒ s = 0.25 x 32400 / 2

⇒ s = 0.25 x 16200

⇒ s = 4050 m

The distance traveled by the body = 4050 m
