Distance to be covered = 1/2 m = 0.5 m.

Time = 1/2 seconds = 0.5 seconds.

Since, S = ut + 1/2 at²

∴ S = 1/2 × at²

⇒ 0.5 = 1/2 × a × (0.25)

⇒ a = 4 m/s².

∴ Total distance = 0.5 + 0.5 = 1 m.

∴ 1 = 1/2 × 4 × t²

∴ t² = 0.5

⇒ t = 0.71 seconds.

∴ Time taken in next half meter = 0.71 - 0.5

= 0.21 seconds.

Hope it helps.
