According to an equation of kinematics for linear motion,v=
u+at, where, v is velocity at time t . We have to finnd t . u=0.5m/s,
the initial velocity. a=-0.5 m/s^2 (retardation). When body stops moving
,v=0m/s. Substituting these values,t=-(0.5/-0.5)=1s.
