A body starts to slide over a horizontal surface with initial velocity of 0.2 m/s. Due to friction, its velocity decreases at a rate of 0.02 m/s^2. How much time will it take to stop?

Answer:

v = 0 ms-1

u = 0.2 ms-1

a = -0.02 ms-2

Substituting the values in the eq.

v = u + at

0 =  0.2 + (-0.02 x t)

t = 10 s

The body comes to rest after 10 s
