a body starts to slide over a horizontal surface with an initial velocity of 0.5 m/s. due to friction its velocity decreases at the rate of 0.05 m/s².how much time will it take for the body to stop

u=0.5 m/s
a=-0.05 m/s²
v=0
By first equation of motion, we have:
v=u+at
0=0.5-0.05t
0-0.5=-0.05t
-0.5=-0.05t
0.5/0.05=t
50/5=t
Thus t= 10 sec..

so we know eq of motion
v= u + at
0= 0.5+(-0.05)t. we take a = - 0.05 for retardation
t= 10sec
