QUESTION:-

A body takes 5 second to travel 80 m in a certain planet .Calculate the acc due to gravity on that planet

EXPLANATION:-

  • H=80 m
  • Time taken=80 m
  • u=0 m/s

Using 2nd equation:-

H=ut+1/2gt²

Substitute values

80=g/2(5)²

80=25g/2

160=25 g

g=160/25

g=6.4 m/s²

So the acc. due to gravity is 6.4 m/s²

Given

  • Initial Velocity (u) = 0 m/s
  • Time (t) = 5 sec
  • Distance (s) = 80 m

________________________

To Find

  • Acceleration (a)

________________________

Solution

We'll apply the 2nd Equation of Motion to find Acceleration.

2nd Equation of Motion → \sf s = \dfrac{1}{2}at^{2}+ut

Substitute the values and find the value of 'a'

80 = \dfrac{1}{2}a(5)^{2} + 0(5)

80 = \dfrac{1}{2}a(25) + 0

80 = 12.5a

a = \dfrac{80}{12.5}

a = 6.4 \ m/s^{2}

∴ The acceleration would be 6.4 m/s²
