a body thrown vertically upwards reachs the maximum height. then it returns to ground caculate the distance and displacement.

since the body returns to its initial position therefore the displacement is 0.

the distance traveled is 2h_max=u^2/g

As we know that the total length of journey is the distance .

Distance= h+h =2h

Also we know that the shortest distance between initial and final positions the body is coming back to the initial position the net displacement is zero
