Solution:-
Let the initial velocity be u and acceleration be a.
Thus distance travelled in 2sec is 2m , using 2nd equation of motion:
2 = u(2) + 1/2 a(2)²
1 = u + a ........(1)
also distance in four seconds i.e between 6th and 2nd seconds is 2 .2 m
2.2 = u(6) + 1/2 a (6)² - 2 = 2.2
6u + 18a = 4.2
0.7 = u + 3a ........(2)
(2) – (1)
2a = 0.7 - 1
2a = -0.3
a = -0.3/2
a = -0.15m/s²
from equation (1)
u + a = 1
u = 1 - (-0.15)
u = 1.15m/s
∴ v = u + at
v = 1.15 - 0.15(10)
v = 1.15 -1.5
v = -0.35m/s
