Let us write the given data

Distance (s) = 200m

Acceleration (a) = 4 m/ sec

Time ( t ) = ??

Another clue/hint which is given in this question is that it is starting from rest  means initial velocity is zero

Initial velocity (u) = 0

Let us use the formula

✪ s = ut + \frac{1}{2} at²

✪ 200 = 0 × t + \frac{1}{2} × 4 × t²

✪  200 = 0 + 2t²

✪  200 = 2t²

✪ 200/2 = t²

✪ 100 = t²

✪ √100 = t

✪ t = 10 seconds

Hence time required is 10 seconds

Use the newtons 3 laws of motion accornding to given quantities and find the answers . They are,

  • v = u + at
  • s = ut + 1/2 at²
  • v² - u² = 2as

With these formulas you can apply the given quantities and find the answers

METHOD 2 :

V² - U² = 2as

v² - 0²  = 2 × 4 × 200

v² = 1600

v = √1600

v = 40

Final velocity (v) = 40 m/s

We need to find time (t)

So let us use

v = u + a t

40 = 0 + 4 t

40 = 4 t

40 / 4 = t

Time (t) = 10 seconds

#Hope it helps

BrainlyLegend2108: The reason is they given distance and accelration we need time alone also they said u = 0 so i used 2nd equation of motion which is perfectly matching
BrainlyLegend2108: use can also use other equations it will require lot of steps
BrainlyLegend2108: You can use the laws according to the questions :-)
sumuchetia7: Thank you.But I really didn't understand why only the second equation and how it matches the requirement.Would you be kind to tell me if we could use this formula-a=v-u/t
BrainlyLegend2108: yeah wait friend i will solve for u in that method also wait quite a bit
sumuchetia7: Ok.Thank you so much.
BrainlyLegend2108: now please check it
BrainlyLegend2108: i solved second u asked method same result :-)
sumuchetia7: Ok.Thank you so much.
BrainlyLegend2108: you are welcome
