a body travels a distance 15m from A to B and then moves a distance of 20m in right angles to AB.calculate the total distance travelled and the displacement.

total distance travelled is - distance 15m from A to B + distance of 20m in right angles to AB
Total Distance = 15m + 20m = 35m

As we know,
Displacement is the shortest distance
therefore .
Since , the figure formed by these data is a right angled triangle
So
Displacement can be calculated using Pythagoras theorem ..

Hence , h2= p2+b2
AC=√625
AC=25m is the displacement
