average speed =distance covered / total time
time for Ist 10 km =distance /speed
= 10/30
=1/3 hours
Now time for next 40 km= 40/50
=4/5
So total time is 1/3 + 4/5
= (5+12)/15
=17/15 hours
Total distance is 10+40 i.e. 50 km
so average speed is 50/(17/15)
which is equal to 44.1176471 km/hr
time for Ist 10 km =distance /speed
