Its possible for displacement to be zero but not distance. For example you walk from point A to point B then back to point A.

For example say that the distance between A and B is 10m.

Total distance travelled = 20m and Total displacement= 0m

there is no difference in distance between the starting point (Point A) and end point (Point A).
