Hii
here is ur answer
average speed=total path length/Time interval
time=distance/velocity
t1 =AB/40
t2=AB/60
t1+t2=AB/40+AB/60
=AB/24
average speed=2AB/AB/24
=2/1/24=48m/s
average velocity=displacement/time taken
the body moves from A to B and then B to A
so displacement is 0
therefore average velocity=0m/s
hope it helps you
thank you

Hey there !
Solution:
Given :
Distance Travelled = 40 m to 60 m
=> Distance Traveled = 60 m + 40 m = 100 m
Displacement = 0
As the body returned to the original position.
Average Speed = Total Distance / Total Time
=> Average speed = 100 m / Time
Since Time is not given I am giving the solution in terms of time itself.
Therefore Average Speed is 100 m per unit time.
Average Velocity = Displacement / Time
Displacement = 0. Hence,
Average Velocity = 0 / Time
We know that 0 divided by anything is 0.
Hence Average Velocity = 0 m/s
Hope my answer helped !
