a body travels from A to B at 40m/s and from B to A at 60m/s . calculate the average speed and average velocity​

Answer:

to find the average speed , we must use the formula 2v₁v₂ / v₁+v₂

v₁ = 40 m/s

v₂ = 60 m/s

by substituting the values ,

= 2×40×60 / 40 + 60

= 2×40×60 / 100

= 48 m/s

Average velocity will be zero since the body has covered no displacement .
