A body weight 700 N on the surface of the Earth how much will it weight on the surface of planet whose mass 1/7 and radius is half that of the earth? ​

Weight of body on earth = 700 N

mg = 700 N

m = 700/g = 700/10 = 70 Kg

Now,

Mass of Earth = M

Radius of Earth = R

so, g at earth = GM/R^2

Now,

Mass of other planet = M/7

Radius of other planet = R/2

g' at that planet = G(M/7)/(R/2)^2 = 4GM/7R^2

or, g' = 4g/7 = 4 ×10/7 = 40/7 m/s^2

So,

Weight of object on this planet = mg' = 70 × 40/7 = 400 N
