your question is incomplete. A complete question is ------> A boiler is made of Copper plate 2.4 mm thick with an inside coating of 0.2 mm thick layer of tin the surface area exposed to the gases at 700 degree celsius is 400 CM square the maximum amount of steam that could be generated per second and atmospheric pressure is (where kCu is 0.9 and Ktin is 0.15 calorie per centimetre per second to degree Celsius and latent heat of steam is 540 cal/gm )

solve :- heat flows through boiler = heat flows through tin layer + heat flows through copper plate.
= K_{tin}A\frac{dT}{dx_{tin}}+K_{copper}A\frac{dT}{dx_{copper}}

= 0.15 × 400 × (700 - 100)/0.2 × 10^-1 + 0.9 × 400 × (700 - 100)/2.4 × 10^-1

= 60 × 600 × 10¹/0.2 + 360 × 600 × 10¹/ 2.4

= 300 × 600 × 10¹ + 150 × 600 × 10¹

= 18 × 10^5 + 9 × 10^5

= 27 × 10^5 cal/s

now , Let amount of steam formed is M in an hour

so, ML = 27 × 10^5 cal
M = 27 × 10^5/540 = 5000g

hence, steam produced 5000g/sec .
