Time t to reach the ground is given by
h = u t + 1/2 g t²
1500 = 0 + 1/2 * 10 * t² , as g = 10 m/sec²
t = √300 = 10√3 sec = 17.32 sec
Horizontal distance travelled by the bomb from the point of release from the Jet plane = horizontal uniform velocity * time travelled
= 500 km / hr * 17.32 sec = 500 * 5/18 * 17.32 = 2, 405.55 meters
= 2.405 km
