Step-by-step explanation:

Given:-

A book contains 250 pages. A boy read 20, 18 and 12 pages respectively in three consecutive days.

To find:-

What part of the book did he read in 3 days and what part of the whole book has yet to be read by him?

Solution:-

Total number of pages in a book = 250

Reading pages in the first day by a boy = 20

Reading pages in the second day by the boy=18

Reading pages in the third day by the boy = 12

Total reading pages in the book in all three consecutive days

=20+18+12

=50

Total number of pages has been read by the boy = 50

The part of the reading pages in the total pages

=Reading pages / Total pages

= 50/250

=1/5

The boy read 1/5th part of the book .

Remaining pages = Total pages - Already read pages

=> 250-50

= 200

The part of the remaining pages

= Remaining pages / Total pages

= 200/250

= 20/25

=4/5

Answer:-

The boy read 1/5th of the book.

The boy has yet to be read 4/5th of the book.

Answer:

1st part solution.

  • 20 +18+12 = 50
  • Therefore 50/250 =1/5
  • so he has read 1/5 part of the book .

2nd part solution.

  • Number of pages left (left means not read)
  • 250-50=200 (because he has read 50 pages)
  • Therefore 200/250= 4/5
  • so 4/5 part is still left ( left means not read)

thankyou. (Hope it will help you)
