Given:

A book has 350 pages.

No. of errors:  0     1     2     3    4    5     6.

No. of pages:  75   65  55  60  33  40  22.

To Find:

Find the probability that a page selected at random will have:

i). No errors.

ii). More than 3 errors.

iii). Only 3 errors.

Solution:

According to the formula of probability,

Probability = Number of favorable outcomes / Number of total outcomes.

i). No errors,

Probability = 75 / 350 = 0.21.

ii). More than 3 errors,

Probability = (33 + 40 + 22) / 350 = 0.27.

iii). Only 3 errors,

Probability = 60 / 350 = 0.17.
