A bookmark is shaped like a rectangle with a semicircle attached at both ends. The rectangle is 16 cm long and 4 cm wide. The diameter of each circle is the width of the rectangle. What is the area of the bookmark? Use 3.14 for π.

the area of the book mark would be
area of the reactangle + area of the two semi circle
two semicircles would make a perfect Circle
and the area of a circle is πr^2
and the diameter is= width=4cm
therefore radius = 2cm
the area would be 3.14×2×2
= 3.14×4
=12.56 sq.cm
the area of reactangle=l×b
= 16×4
=64 sq.cm
total area= 12.56+64
=76.56sq cm
