A bookseller buys paper at Rs 50 per ream. At what price quire should he sell it so as to gain 20%?​

1 ream = 20 quires .

Cost price= Rs 50 .

To Find :

Cost of per quire

Solution:

FINDING COST PRICE OF PER QUIRE -

20 quires = Rs 50

1 quire = 50/20 = 2.5

Cost Price of per Quire = Rs 2.5

FINDING GAIN -

Given : Gain = 20 % .

Gain percentage on cost price

2.5 x 20/100 = 0.5

Gain = 0.5

FINDING SELLING PRICE -

Selling Price = Cost Price + Gain

Selling Price = 2.5 + 0.5 = 3 .

Hence, SELLING PRICE OF PER QUIRE = Rs 3.
