Answer:

________________________

Let selling price of each book is X

SP of 40 books = 40X

SP of 8 books = 8X

According to the Question

Total SP - Total Profit = CP

40X-8X= 3200

32X=3200

X=100

SP of each book is 100

∴ SP of one dozen books = 12×100=1200 rupees

40 books =3200

1 book =80

8 book profit on 40 books

so

20% profit.

For 1 book means 120% (100+20) = 80

For 1 book 100% = 66.6666

For 12 Books (1 dozen) = 66.6666×12

=800

1 dozen price is 800
