A bottle of cold drink contains 200ml of liquid in which CO2 is 0.1 molar. Suppose CO2 behaves like an ideal gas , the volume of dissolved CO2 at S.T.P is :
A-0.224 L
B-0.448 L
C- 22.4 L
D- 2.24 L
E- 25.5 L

Solution with formula and working . Need it quick :) thanks

MrudulaB: 0.1 molar means 0.1 moles of carbon dioxide in 1 litre that is 1000 ml

Answer: 0.448 L

Explanation:

Molarity is defined as number of moles of solute dissolved per litre of the solution.

\text {no of moles}={\text{Molarity}\times {\text{Volume in L}}

Volume = 200 ml = 0.2 L               (1L=1000ml)

\text {no of moles}={0.1M}\times {0.2L}=0.02moles

According to Avogadro's law,  1 mole of CO_2 occupy 22.4 L at STP.

0.02 moles of CO_2 occupy=\frac{22.4}{1}\times 0.02L=0.448L at STP.
