1. 86% by weight indicates that 1000 gram of solution contains 860 gram of H2SO4 i.e 860/98= 8.78 moles.molar mass of H2SO4 is 98)

2. Now volume 1000 g of solution

= 1000g/1.8g cm^3=1000/1.8= 555.55 mL(1cm^3 = 1 mL)

Thus 8.78 moles of H2SO4 are present in 555.55 mL or 0.55555 liter.

Molarity = 8.78/0.55555 = 15.80 M.
