Given :  A bowl contains 9 blue balls, 7 white and 5 black balls.

2 balls are drawn in one go,

To find:  the probability of exactly one ball being white

Solution:

Blue balls = 9

White Balls = 7

Black Balls = 5

Total Balls = 9 + 7 + 5 = 21

2 balls are drawn in one go  Hence there is no specific order of drawing 2 different balls.

2 Balls can be selected out of 21 in ²¹C₂ = 210 ways

1 white ball out of 7 white balls can be selected in 7 ways

1 non white ball out of 14 non-white balls can be selected in 14 ways

Hence ways to select exactly one ball being white = 7 * 14 = 98

Probability of exactly one ball being white = 98/210

= 7/15
