  • We are given a box contains 15 numbered tickets from 1,2...15.
  • We have to find out of 7 tickets,probability of not having a number greater than 9.
  • So first, we calculate probability of getting a number greater than 9.
  • We can get 10,11,12,13,14,15 i.e 6 numbers greater than 9.
  • And P(getting one number from 1-15) :

        = 1/15

  • So P(getting a number greater than 9) :

        = 6/15.

  • Now we are drawing 7 such tickets,so total probability will be :

        = (6/15)^7

        = (2/5)^7

        = 0.00169

  • So the probability that the drawn tickets do not have a number greater than 9 is 0.00169.
