Given:

Number of slips in box 1= 20

Number of slips in box 2 = 30

To find:

Different ways to select a pair of slips from each box.

Solution:

Number of ways in which we can take out slips from box 1 is = 20C1

Number of ways in which we can take out slips from box 2 = 30C2

Ways to select a pair of slip from the two boxes = 20C1 * 30C1

=(20!/(19! * 1!)) * (30!/ (29! * 1!))

= 20*30

=600

Therefore, we can select a pair of slips from the two boxes in 600 ways.
