Given,

Total balls = 500

Total white balls = 160

Total red balls = 200

To Find.

The probability that a ball is drawn at random from the box is not black=?

Solution,

Total black balls = Total - red balls -  white balls

Total black balls = 500 - 200 - 160

Total black balls =  140

Probability of getting a black ball = 140 / 500

Probability of not getting a black ball = 1 - Probability of getting a black ball

Probability of not getting a black ball = 1 - 140 / 500

Probability of not getting a black ball = (500 - 140) / 500

Probability of not getting a black ball =  360 / 500 = 18  / 25

Hence, The probability that a ball is drawn at random from the box is not black is  360 / 500 or 18/25.
