A box contains apple and orange in total 60.their ration is 3:2
a)if one is taken at random what is the chance that is an apple ?
b)how many apples are there

is just very simple. Divide 60 in the ratio of 3 : 2 . Let k be ratio constant, then 3k + 2k = 5k = 60 implies

k = 12 . Hence there are (12 x 3) = 36 apples and (12 x 2) = 24 orange in the box .
