YOUR QUESTION :

A box contains cards bearing numbers 6 to 70.If one card is drawn at random from the box, find the probability that it bears Neither divisible by 3 nor by 5

SOLUTION :

The formula for probability is

probability =  \frac{number \: of \: favourable \: events}{number \: of \: total \: events}

From the given data in the question,

The total number of cards is 65;

a) Total number of one digit numbers in the cards is 4;

probability  =  \frac{4}{65}

b) Total numbers divisible by 5 is 13;

probability  =  \frac{13}{65}  =  \frac{1}{5}

c) Total number of odd numbers less than 30 is 12;

 probability  =  \frac{12}{65}

d) Total number of composite numbers between 50 and 70 is 14;

probability  =  \frac{14}{65}
