A box contains cards bearing numbers between 5 and 70. If one card is drawn at random , find the probability that it is a number divisible by 5 or 10. (Please give the answer neatly if written down)

To Find : Probability that  it is a number divisible by 5 or 10.

Solution:

A box contains cards bearing numbers between 5 and 70.

are 6 , 7 , ..................................., 68 , 69

Hence Total cards  = 64

Number Divisible by 5

10 , 15 , ................................60 , 65

Total numbers are = 65 = 10 + (n - 1) 5

=>55 = (n - 1) 5

=> 11 = n - 1

=> n = 12

12 Numbers

5 is a factor of 10  Hence number Divisible by 10 are already considered

probability that it is a number divisible by 5 or 10   = 12/64

= 3/16

= 0.1875
