A box contains cards numbered from 15 to 130. A card is drawn at random from the box.

Find the probability that the number on the card drawn is ;

a) a perfect square number ; b) a multiple of 5.​

Total number of cards are 130-15+1=116

Perfect squared numbers from 15 to 130 are 16,25,36,49,64,81,100 and 121

The number of such cards are 8

Therefore answer (a) will be 8/116=2/29

Multiple of 5 cards are from 15 to 130 therefore it will be 24

Therefore answer (b) will be 24/116=6/29
