A box having 50kg of mass is placed on a rough horizontal surfsce having mues =0.6 . What is the value of force of friction between box and the surface ?

The Value of the Force of the Friction between the body and the Surface = 0.

This answer may shocked you, But its 100% correct. This is because, when there will be no force acting on the body then the friction which is a self adjusting force will be zero.

But when the force will acts on a body then there will be some friction.

Fro the given condition, you may calculate friction as,

Friction = mgμ

= 50 × 10 × 0.6

= 300 N.

This is the limiting friction. Means if the force acing on the body will be less than or equal to that then the friction will be same as the applied force but when the force greater than that acts on it then the force of the friction will be the magnitude of the limiting friction.
